Peterborough Native Learning Program (PNLP) is a not for profit, charitable agency that originated in 1999. Agency open , free of charge, to all people 19 and over ( both Native and non-Native) who require assistance in the areas of literacy and basic skills in the Peterborough and County area. Services include GED & CAAT test preparation, online course support, preparation for apprenticeship path and digital skills training .All programming is offered free of change. Our adult learners are, for the most part, on a limited or fixed income and struggle to access basic needs. We know that research has proven a distinct link between eating and learning outcomes. When students eat better, they learn better. PNLP would like to provide some nourishment, basic hygiene products and adequate learning materials to help clients achieve their goals. Specifically, we would like to provide light refreshments, such as granola bars, juice, coffee, tea and spring water. On a limited budget, hygiene items are often not attainable and we would like to offer these items for health and confidence.To alleviate many of these barriers would help us to provide the inclusive and accommodating space we seek to achieve.
